Today you will take a city tour of Luang Prabang. You will visit the National Museum, was once the former king's palace, Wat Xieng Thong (the most beautiful temple in the city), Wat Visoun, the site of the impressive That Makmo stupa. Afterthat, take a traditional boat trip upstream on the Mekong river to visit the famous Pak ou caves (Tham Ting) housing thousands of Buddha statues. Visit Khouang Si waterfalls about 30km to the south of Luang prabang. Khouang Si waterfalls tumble over multi-tiered limestone formations into cool, clear pools ideal for swimming and relaxing.
Head back to town and visit Wat Phousi for a splendid sunset. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

In the early morning, you will watch the big alms-giving ceremony (Tak Bat) at the compound of That Luang Stupa attended by thousands of Monks from different provinces. Then drive to Vang Vieng, about 150km from Vientiane. Vang Vieng is suited for those looking for quiet place to relax amidst gorgeous surroundings. Take in the natural attractions such as craggy mountains, tubing on He Nam Xong river and exploring beautiful sataractic and stalagmite caves. After noon, arrive Vang Vieng, visit Tham Chang cave and local market. Transfer to hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, en route to Vientiane capital. You will pay a visit to Ham Phra Kaew, once the royal temple of Lao monarchy. Built in 1565,Ham Phra Kaew has been used as a museum since 1970 and contains some of the finest Buddhist sculptures and artifacts in the country. Nearby is Wat Sisaket, the oldest original temple in Vientiane. Built in 1818, Wat Sisaket is the sole survivor of an invasion in 1828, go on to Wat Simuong. Afterthat, visit morning market and That Luang stupa, the famous Vientiane landmark. This great sacred stupa, considered the national symbol, was built in 1566 by King Setthathirat. Visit Patousay, one of the most photographed images of Vientiane, constructed in 1958. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Today you will have chance to see the most popular activity here, boat racing. The Vientiane Boat Racing Festival is held during 6 weeks, from the end of August and beginning of October. There are three categories of boats: sport for men, traditional for men and traditional for women. The races start with the women’s teams, followed by the men’s teams. Each boat contains fifty athletes competing on a few hundred meters whereas thousands of spectators cheer their teams along the Mekong River bank. The race often begins around midday and finishes before the sunset. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
The day is free at leisure until you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight. The room is at your disposal till 12:00 noon only. Meals on your own. End of services.
