We depart from Green Discovery Office in Vang Vieng. Start the discovery trip by 14km transferring to the north of Vang Vieng. Firstly, we will visit Tham Xang (Elephant Cave) which lies on the opposite banks of the Nam Song. It is an important Buddhist temple and owes its name to a remarkable limestone formation.
Then pay a visit to the nearby Tham Hoi cave (Snail cave) where you will spend one hour exploring numerous corridors ends at a crystal clear spring. Here, swimming in the stream - in a cave lit up by candles - is possible all the year round.
The next stop is Tham Loup (Deep Cave), the most beautiful cave on this trip. It is known for its many stalagmites and stalactites. Then go to another cool pool of spring water at the mouth of Tham Nam (Water cave), you can swim or join in tubing inside the cave.
After a picnic lunch, have a trek to the Hmong village of Phathao, you will pass through rice paddy fields and vegetable gardens and enjoy the fresh air along the way.
The trip back to Vang Vieng depends on the level of the Nam Song. Descending the Nam Song by kayak leads us through idyllic scenes of rural life: a unique sight with the Limestone Mountains in the background.
