Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted and transferred to the hotel. Set on a city bike tour to cover some of the biggest highlights the city has to offer: the Royal Palace; Wat Mai ; Wat Xiang Thong; and if time permits, the stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham. Your evening you will enjoy the dinner and have time to explore the town and night market or relax at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

The day starts with a visit to the Big Brother Mouse shop to select some books for the village visit. Upon arrival on Ban Khia Luang village, we then have ample time to visit the school, play with the kids and watch them enjoy their new books. After lunch we board a private boat down the Nam Ou River for 30 minutes to Pak Ou Caves. Continue down the Mekong River back to Luang Prabang, arriving back there by late afternoon. Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Waterfalls - Ban Chan

Today we cross the Mekong River by boat, to the picturesque village of Ban Chan, a pottery village. We then visit the morning Phousi Market. Also visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, a Hmong village, Ban Ou a Laoloum village and Ban Thapene, a Khmu village. Later arrive at the beautiful Khuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Luang Prabang - Xieng Khuang

We head out of Luang Prabang and onto Xieng Khoang. Upon arrival, there will be a tour to Site 1 of Plain of Jars, a mysterious, large area where huge jars of unknown origin, each weighing several tons, are laid out all over the plateau. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Xieng Khuang - Plain of Jars - Muang Khoun

This morning we have time to visit the MAG exhibition and Site 2 of the Plain of Jars before taking a short scenic trek to Site 3 via a Tai Dam and Lao Leum village. Following lunch we have a half day tour seeing the old capital of Muang Khoun and the nearby villages, home to the Hmong hill tribe and Tai Dam people. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Xieng Khuang - Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng - Vientiane

In Vang Vieng, we explore the famous caves of Tham Jang, which was once used by the local people as a hideout from Chinese invaders and cross the river to Ban Huai Ngai, a very pleasant village with different lifestyles of the locals. Vientiane - Pakse - 4000 Islands

After breakfast, we transfer to our airport to take our flight to Pakse. On arrival, head south to Champassak and visit the temple ruins of Wat Phou. In the afternoon, we continue our journey by long tail boat to Si Phan Done, literally translated as 4000 islands, where we will have the rest of the day to relax or to explore the island. 4000 Islands - Khone Island - Liphi Falls - Khone Phapheng

After an early breakfast, we hit Khone Island and begin re-tracing the French colonial times here as many remnants (old pier, stream railway, French buildings) stand still. Continue our sail to visit the gorgeous Liphi waterfall, which is a must-see for waterfall-lovers. On the journey keep an eye out for the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins. Afterwards, return to Ban Nakasang and drive to the spectacular waterfall of Khone Phapeng - the largest in South East Asia, also known as the 'Niagara of the east'. Transfer to your hotel.
